Lyrics and Commentary
Included with the lyrics is commentary for each song. What we thought, what we
were influenced by, and what we did on the sessions. We're not attempting to be
self important, but its been an interesting experience for us to reflect back to 40
years ago in the case of Visions, and 25 years ago in the case of Revisions.

For the many that have not heard the albums, it may have less meaning, but we
have included clips of some of the songs and video clips recalling those times.

Even without the music, the lyrics for many of the songs have a poetry in keeping
with the lyrics of many other bands of the time. The lyrics have been divided
into those that were on one or of the two albums, and the two songs that made it
onto both albums as quite different versions. There are also lyrics and a recording
of those tracks from Revisions that Nia Peeples sang, three of which have
different themes and lyrics.

When we made these albums the song order was paced so that a side would not
be a collection of songs, but would be a 15-20 minute listening experience.
Friends would get together and sit on bean bags (under the room's tie-dye silk
ceiling). Someone would roll a joint or two, while the record was placed on the
turntable, and the stereo turned up. The music would begin, the J would be lit,
and the album cover and liner insert would be passed around along with the
doobie (and don't Bogart that J), Both the music and the album held meaning.

Nothing would be said as we all listened and grooved and were taken on a
journey- a shared inner experience that would break into conversation only when
the needle lifted off the ending spiral groove.

CDs provide a different experience. Not many people get their friends together
to quietly sit while they share the sonic space of a recording - to look for
meaning, and symbolism in the words and music of the artist's vision through that
fraction of an hour of life. Alas, all music is now background.
